21. DIY E-drums

 During past ten years I have worked quite a lot with different self made electronic pads in addition to basic The Stroj percussive arsenal which includes rough percussions like plastic oil drums, assorted cymbals, coils and metals, kick and coil drums. So I decided to make some prototypes of heavy duty electronic pads connected to drum module (recently I'm working with 2Box DrumIt Five). Car tires already proven their durability so I used them for pads. Their response and dynamic work well enough for our purpose as we tested them as oil drums the crew is usually playing.

I was quite lucky to find a small trampoline in a junkyard not far away from my house. Except the pink plastic, It seemed to be the perfect head for E - Kick.

And it was. Heavy duty, very responsive, hi-tech and with retro futuristic appeal I really like.

20. Kymaticon on Vienna Art Week

It's been almost 20 years since I work with sculptor Boštjan Drinovec on different sound and kinetic sculptures. Our collaboration started in the early days of Metelkova in Ljubljana, squated military complex with most vital artistic scene in 90's.

This year we were invited to exhibit two instruments/sound installations at Denise Parizek's gallery Schleifmuhlgasse 12-14 during Wienna Art Week. I've performed a short piece of music on efektor on the opening before leaving the machines to the audence. I think they had a lot of fun and for most of them it was the first time to see cymatics.

19. Cymatics On The Edge of Science

On The Edge of Science is a production of Croatian national TV hosted by renown journalist and author Krešimir Mišak. He explores many fields on the verge of official science like parapsychology, alternative approaches in medicine, altered states of consciousness, alternative history etc.  I was invited to present my cymatics research and put it in a wider context. So we discussed about history of cymatics, fractal geometry, dissipative structures of  Ilya Prigogine, rhythmanalysis of Henry Lefebvre, morphogenetic fields of Rupert Sheldrake, Pribram's concept of holographic mind, Bohm's implicite order and about the role of vibrations in general perception of life and the cosmos.
It was an important step in my efforts to raise awareness of public toward vibrational phenomena and the importance of sound as one of the basic formative processes in cosmos.

18. The Stroj in Panovec tunnel

Regarding venues of The Stroj performances you would hardly surprise us with something new.Factories, rooftops, mines, ships, trucks, stone pits, junkyards, museums.... name it and we did it.But when we got invitation from Student's Club Nova Gorica to perform in a road tunnel that was something new even for us. Organizers closed the main road to Nova Gorica for two days to prepare everything for a big event in Panovec tunnel with The Stroj and Laibach.Crowd of more than two thousand people was more than satisfied and you bet we gave them the best part of us.

17. Electric Mass for Nikola Tesla

KunstHaus Rogaška Slatina, Slovenia. 10th of July 2016. One hundred sixty years ago Nikola Tesla was born. A small group of admirers of Tesla's work come together to commemorate his birthday with special happening. Folk artist Nani Poljanec was reading Tesla's original letter from his collection, with my musical support on efektor.Electrifying ceremony sparked deep emotions in all the participants of this extraordinary event and heighten our spirits on higher voltage.

16. Retrophonics

It's another low/no budget project I've made together with my long time collaborator Boštjan Drinovec.For some 15 years we collaborate on our sonic sculptures, experimenting, looking for materials and mechanisms, assembling, finding things out...or not. It's a creative play of sculptor and metamechanic, an attempt to create a public sonic sculpture which attracts people with it's shape and form, fire their imagination and invite them to transform it into an instrument.

Opening performance was held on the exhibition garden of ZDSLU, Ljubljana in September 2015. I used some pickups, effects and a looper to make Retrophonics play in it's very own manner. And that's how it sounds...

15. Children Of Adam and Eve

After succesfull collaboration on a short movie One Hundred Dogs, Jan Cvitkovič invited me again to make compositions for his project Children Of Adam And Eve, staged in National Theatre Nova Gorica. Shortly after begining of rehersals he asked me to join them with efektor. It was intense, focused, strict, upredictable and exciting.    I have to react very precisely, follow the rhythm of silences, words and gestures. So different experience from following musicians or playing on click. The play started to grow from Jan's text, dedicated actors become alive and words were slowly transforming into voices. My compositions were following them and becoming together with them. You never go so far as when you don't know where you're going. That's the principle of creativity and principle of human history. We all are children of Adam and Eve, walking through time, following ideas, falling into history.
